This year I’ll be celebrating 5 years of self-employment and I’ve got a lot of exciting things to share with you over the coming months.

My mission for 2019 is to help you get the most from your online presence, both in terms of building high quality, professional websites and teaching you how best to use them after the live launch.

I’ve developed new tools to improve how I work, launched two new services and I will be running website training workshops for the good people of Stockport, Manchester and beyond!

Introducing the Bo Framework

My new WordPress development template The Bo Framework has been launched.

Named after my trusty work hound, The Bo Framework works like a skeleton which I can design around your branding to create a high quality, fast loading and search engine friendly website for you.

I’ve collected my most popular layouts and snippets of functionality into a single place which I can now use as a base template for building small WordPress websites.

By using this starter template lots of the time consuming ‘under the hood’ stuff is already complete. This means that even with a limited budget you can have a website that is professionally built and designed to be unique to you.

One of my favourite ever projects, the Stockport Old Town website!

To help you get the most from your website I am providing two new services to run alongside my bespoke web design and WordPress development projects.

If you’re looking to kick start your business in 2019 or simply looking to do a digital spring clean, I can help you out. I’ll make sure your WordPress website is in tip-top condition running the latest software and security updates. I can also help you understand how to effectively use and promote your website.

Website Speed Checks & Optimisation

Website optimisation

Page load speed is massively important on any website in order to work well on phones, keep your visitors happy and perform well on search engines.

If you are constantly asking yourself “Why is my website so slow?” I’ll be happy to take a look and suggest how to speed things up. After an initial assessment of your website,  I’ll explain to you where performance improvements can be made and then implement them.

Stockport Web Designer Paul Jardine presenting at MCR_Fred - New adventures in Freelance Front-end Development

I don’t actually have any photos of me teaching. It’s a bit like this though except I have more of a beard now.

Over the last few years I’ve been teaching a web design and development module at Salford University. This year I will be running a few short workshops of my own showing you how to use your WordPress website more effectively .

Each 3 hour workshop will be for small groups of up to 5 people. They will be non-technical and you won’t need to know how to code.

Search Engine Optimisation for Beginners

The SEO for Beginners workshop will help you intelligently manage your website content. I’ll show you how to make small, simple changes to improve your website’s visibility and understand your Google Analytics data to keep track of your progress.
